Ready to Welcome a Furry Friend into Your Family?
At Heidi's Legacy Dog Rescue, we’re thrilled to guide you through a joyful and seamless adoption process! Here’s everything you need to know to bring one of our precious pups into your home:
- If your new dog hasn’t been spayed or neutered yet, no worries! We’ll schedule this with one of our trusted vets, and it’s included in the adoption fee. The date will be clearly listed in your adoption contract.
- We keep our website up-to-date—if a dog is listed, they’re available for adoption!
- All our pups need a fully fenced-in yard to roam and play safely. Plus, obedience training is a must to ensure a smooth transition into their new home. Once completed, please send us a certificate of completion via email. When applying, be sure to include photos or videos of your securely enclosed yard.
- For any inquiries, please reach out to us via the email provided below. We kindly ask you to read through the bio first, as we try to cover everything we know about each dog there. If you still have questions, feel free to email us at info@HeidisLegacyDogRescue.com.
- Fill out an application here: Apply to Foster or Adopt.
- We’re a dedicated team of volunteers, and we’ll reach out if we have any questions or if your application is approved. You’ll then be invited to meet your future furry family member! While we wish we could respond to everyone, we can only contact those selected for the next steps.
Important Reminders:
- Our dogs are in loving foster homes, not a shelter.
- Your new companion must live in your home as part of your family.
- We do not offer transportation, so please plan accordingly.
- All our communication is done via email, so please bear with us as we balance volunteering with our full-time jobs and families. The more complete your application, the faster we can process it! Also, don’t forget to notify your vet that we’ll be reaching out to confirm information.
- If you don’t hear from us, we’ve likely found a home that’s a better match for the dog’s specific needs. We appreciate your understanding and thank you for your support!
Adoption Process:
- Submit your application here: Apply to Foster or Adopt (Applications are kept on file for 30 days)
- We’ll conduct background and vet checks.
- You’ll receive an email invitation to meet the dog(s) if selected.
- Finalize the adoption with an official contract!
